In general the programme arranged by Discover Nepal was fine and interesting. We particularly liked the Yoga class and the History class. The accommodation. Service provided to us was almost too good. The 3 days of Sightseeings was a very good idea in which we saw many cultural sites of Kathmandu City. All in all the Trekkng was a good and lovely experience. We all (the four Dannish group) enjoyed the introduction programmes and all of the nice people we met. In addition to the Everest Base Camp trek, the Khumbu region of Nepal offers a host of other trails of course and Dream Nepal can take you on trekking on a number of them. A possible addition or alternative to the Everest Base Camp trek, for example, is to hike up the Gokyo Valley.

Lying west of the main Khumbu valley, it is a world apart in terms of traffic on the trails as there are so few permanent settlements here. It is important to remember that altitude is a bigger factor though and that is one reason why many people add this onto the end of the Everest trek - having acclimatised already they are much more likely to adapt well to the higher passes of Gokyo. A popular destination in the valley is Gokyo Ri, where the view back towards Everest is even better than that from the famous Kala Pattar viewpoint in the Khumbu.

Another way to extend your experience in Nepal's mountains is to start your trek to Everest at Jiri instead of Lukla as is common these days. This section of the route is less developed than the areas north of Lukla which have become relatively prosperous on the revenue from tourists. Teahouses and campsites are still easy to find but they are more rustic in character and you will feel closer to the ways of the mountain people here.

No special trekking permits are needed for either of these trips though you must pay for entrance to the Everest. National Park. Dream Nepal can of course take care of this for you, as well as organising as much or as little support as you require. They also offer an extensive range of other trekking and adventure programs that range over the . length and breadth of Nepal. Find out more at www.dreamnepal.com.np
